Gillam Drive
Zachariah Gillam’s arrest along with George Durant served as the catalyst for the outbreak of Culpeper Rebellion in 1677. Durant and Gillam were appointed agents to represent the rebel cause before the proprietors in England.
   
Berkeley Drive
Upon the erection of the Carolina Proprietary in 1663, Governor William Berkeley of Virginia, one of the Lords Proprietors, began to grant land on behalf of the Lords Proprietors. Governor Berkeley granted the land know today as Durant’s Neck and Harvey Point.
   
Lawson Drive
John Lawson was the surveyor general who calculated in 1701 that the population of Yeopim Indians, which was once a thriving, working village, was now estimated to include only 6 warriors.
   
Wyatt’s Way
William Wyatt among others was elected to legislature from Perquimans around 1754. Wyatt and the others capped a succession of Perquimans County notables in the provincial assembly.
